It's so nice to meet you!

My name is Tamara, a self-taught bookbinder who runs Captn's
Log. Based in Southern California, I've earned my degree in Screenwriting but I
couldn't keep away from my passion to work with textiles and crafts. After dabbling in stamp carving in 2020, I discovered bookbinding as a hobby that helped me on and off while working full time. Near the end of 2023, I begain to dedicate my free time learning the craft while revisiting my love of crocheting and both traditional and digital illustration.

I currently favor the Coptic style of bookbinding and branching out to different thread designs and styles on each piece. I enjoy working with smaller bound books and notebooks, but have also done traditional books with custom designed covers. My traditional art medium is pen and ink with watercolor,
while I use Procreate for my digital works.
